Holden wakes Ackley and they talk for awhile. Holden wants to sleep there, but Ackley won't let him sleep in his roommates bed. Holden begings messing around, asking if he could join a monastery without being Catholic. Ackley gets mad and then Holden gets mad basically because Ackley is a phony. Holden decides that it's time to leave. He's had enough of Pencey and he just gets lonely there, so he decides to go to New York for a few days until Wednesday and then he'll go home to his parents.
Response: I just don't understand why Holden doesn't go home. Yeah, his parents will be pissed, but they'll be pissed on Wednesday when he goes home too. I don't know...
