Holden is still lonely up in his room, so he goes downstairs to the Lavender Room. As he's leaving his room, he begins to tell us about Phoebe. Saying how intelligent she is, but her one flaw is how she sometimes gets annoyed easily. When he gets to the club type place, the waiter refuses to serve him alcohol, so he's stuck having a coke. Holden is feeling very sexy and begins to dance with three women. They enjoy dancing, but they are clearly uninterested, for he is young and isn't famous. He gets annoyed of them and says he just saw some actor leave. They fall for it, and he buys their drinks then leaves.
Response: Holden says how much he hates movies, how phony they are. But he always seems to be talking about them and knowing quite a bit about them.
