#16(Catcher);

After breakfast, Holden goes on a walk and goes down Broadway. While he's there he gets Phoebe a record called Little Shirley Beans. He talks about how a black lady sings it instead of a white girl so it sounds raunchy rather than cute. He thinks about Phoebe some more and says how she always understands Holden. Holden then hears some kids singing and they say "if a body catch a body coming through the rye." Something about them singing, cheers him up. Again, Holden wants to talk to Jane, so he calls her. Her mother answers the phone, however, so Holden hangs up. Holden really feels like seeing his sister, so he goes to the park to see her because she's always there on Saturdays, but then he realizes that it's Sunday. After this, Holden goes to buy dinner theater tickets for his date with Sally.

Response: I'm glad Holden has a date with Sally. It will do him some good to get out and actually talk with someone and hangout. Poor lonely, Holden.
